Trampoline Terror! (planned Japanese title: Explode Star) is a Sega Genesis video game that was released in 1990. It combines elements of strategy video games and overhead view action video games.

Summary

In this video game, the player has to put a halt to the aliens who are trying to take over the planet Ahas after kidnapping their queen.[4]

He must diffuse bombs by walking over their destruction sequences while avoiding enemies.[4] Trampolines can only be jumped on a few times before becoming bottomless pits for the player to die inside of.[4] Powerballs can be picked up in limited numbers in order to defeat the villains in his way.[4] Each level is a 16x16 grid with various obstacles, tiles, and strategically placed trampolines for the character to interact with.[3] While tiles allows players to jump on them permanently, they are not as efficient as the trampolines. Players are given about 15 seconds to continue along with receiving five credits to continue the game with.[5] All the text in the game is written using the same style that is found in 1980s video arcade games.[5]

While the story behind the game is very juvenile, the gameplay is not very complicated even though it ends up becoming too hard for its intended demographic - kids.[3] Veteran adult gamers will end up enjoying the game more in the long run.[3] While the first three levels are easy even for a novice game, the game's difficulty level starts skyrocketing around halfway through the game.[3] There are 33 levels in this game with inconsistent levels of difficulty between them.[3]
